There is a LOT we are thankful for this year. We have been in and out of California — all over the left coast — to Europe and back — twice — have a brand new album out — Stop & Go — a CD Release Party with one of our musical heroes – Gregg Bissonette — met Jon Bon Jovi — :: swoon :: — and have a whole album’s worth of new material to record.
More than anything, we are thankful for the people in our lives who make all of this possible to enjoy — family and friends — all of YOU who encourage us, inspire us, and connect with us.
And through all the greatness, 2011 has also been incredibly hard. For us, it’s a year marked by personal growth, challenges we wondered how on earth we’d face, and loss. We’ve been so grateful to receive emails and messages from you, sharing your own stories and struggles with us. It seems that nearly every person we’ve talked to has said something similar about this year being really hard, and were things really this difficult in the 90s? Maybe not. But this is what will make us stronger, these hard times.
Maybe you don’t have a lot that you can be thankful for right now, or don’t think you do, or are just tired of counting your blessings because they seem so few. But just know that we are all in this together!! We are all a family, and we’re meant to share both the good and the bad we all face. You are reading this because somehow or another, you are in our lives. (Also, because you can see! Something to be thankful for, if nothing else.) And for that we are truly grateful.
Happy Thanksgiving from Deer Park Avenue!
All our love,
Sarah & Steph
